The idea of establishing El Salam School in Asyut was adopted by Rev. Badee Ibrahim since 25 years ago. Many other prominent figures contributed to accomplish this work including Rev. Abd El Malek Fahmi, followed by Rev. Safwat El Bayadi and Rev. Mohsen Mouneer. At the beginning, it was a boarding school located at the American School (former “El Orouba School”). It was known as “American School” due to the availability of American teachers at that time.
El Salam Language School started to operate with 2 classes for KG1, 2 classes for KG2 and a class for 1st primary. Ms/ Samia Aziz was the first principal for this school from the period 1979 till 1994. It was considered to be a golden era because this was the first joint language school in Upper Egypt.
Afterwards many qualified principals managed the school including Ms/ Hekmat Darta from the period 1994 till 1995, followed by Ms/ Evon Fahim from the period 1995 till 2000, Mr/ Rafaat Hezekial from 2000 till 2003, followed by Ms/ Basma Barty. During the period from 2003 till 2009, technology was integrated into the education process.
The school achievements were obvious during the managing era of Ms/ Evon Fahim followed by the present principal Ms/ Shadia Shawky Abd El Messieh.
According to students enrolled in El Salam Private Language School, the first batch graduated in 1990/1991. They enrolled in eminent colleges and became professors and prominent figures.
