El Salam Advanced School in Asyut

At the beginning El Salam School was part of the American Primary School building (known as El Salam Preparatory Secondary Schools in Asyut now).
It was the first school established for Girls by the American Presbyterian Missionary in 1864.  The school’s foundation stone was placed in its current location in 1924. Later on, in 1928 the building was opened and it was known as “American College for Girls” with reference to the American family that contributed funds to construct the school. American and Egyptian teachers worked in the school.
The Synod of the Nile was designated to operate the school in 1962. Since then many individuals managed the school during the period of the general manager, Rev. Badee Ibrahim. After the revolution in 1967, it was renamed “El Orouba”.
