El Salam School started operating as a small daily school known as “American College in Asyut” in 1865. It was relocated to the western side of the city in a spacious building in 1870. Due to the increase in enrollment figures, it was again relocated to a bigger building nearby the railway station in 1884- then relocated to the current location in 1901.
In 1995, the kindergarten, primary and preparatory stages started operating alongside with the continuation of work in the Secondary School.
